An overview of how we collect and use your information
e-Watch is the data controller for all Neighbourhood Watch members registered with it. When we say ‘we’ we mean e-Watch.
The information we collect
In order to provide our service, we require the following information:
Email address First Name Last Name
Post Code Village 1st Line of Address
This is the information provided directly by you when you register with e-watch via www.ewatch.org.uk or when, with your permission, it is passed to us by your Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator when your Neighbourhood Watch scheme chooses to use the e-Watch service.
How we use your information
We use it to provide you with appropriate information, advice and warnings as provided to us by the Police and other reliable sources, relevant to you as a member of Neighbourhood Watch.
Who we share your information with
We do not share your information with any third party.
How long we’ll keep your information
We keep your information for as long as you chose to remain a Neighbourhood e-Watch member. You can end your membership at any time by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the foot of our emails.
Storing your information
We use MailChimp, an email marketing company, to distribute the email messages you receive as a Neighbourhood Watch member. Your information is stored with MailChimp in order that they can send out (process) our messages. Its Privacy Policy may be viewed at www.mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/ . Your information is not stored on local Coordinator’s (Controllers) computers.
Access to your information
Our MailChimp account is protected by two-stage authentication and may be accessed by up to a maximum of three authorised co-ordinators to prepare and issue messages to members. The computers used by the authorised co-ordinators must themselves be password protected and are required to have adequate anti-virus protection.
