An introduction
IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF POLICE COMMUNITY ALERT MESSAGES
The existing ewatch messaging system has been in operation in its present form for nearly 20 years and was given an innovation award by Avon and Somerset Police in the early days.
However, over time things change and shortly, from mid-July, the Police will be introducing a new messaging system which will enable them to send community alerts directly to those who register with them.
This will therefore remove the need for a separate ewatch process as we now operate.
However, it will not be possible, and likely to be illegal under the GDPS rules, to pass existing member email details to the police so current users will need to register with the Police to continue to receive messages.
The existing ewatch system has now closed.

Alerts are now sent out by Avon and Somerset Police to those who have registered and ewatch therefore will not be sending any messages from that date.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the ewatch system, especially Graham Lockley who has led the village co-ordinators group for many years.
